Brazen Edwards is a versatile artist that grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. After it became apparent that she had the innate aptitude for drawing, that ability was mentored in numerous classes at the Edmonton Art Gallery where she was eventually encouraged to attend high school at the newly developed Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts. There she was able to hone her talents by receiving formal training in fine art, set design and construction.

She later enrolled in the BA Criminology Program at the University of Alberta where she was given special permission to take Art Fundamentals as a component of her degree and concentrated on painting, printmaking, sculpture and drawing. She later went on to pursue a career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and relocated to the Okanagan in 2009. She found the region to be inspiring, and realized art was her true calling, so she began devoting herself full time to that pursuit in 2010. Despite being an emerging artist, Brazen achieved active status with the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) shortly after and has been fortunate enough to have her artwork collected internationally and highlighted in numerous juried exhibitions, local art shows and galleries.

In 2015 she opened Ellis Art Studios, a 6000sq ft art facility located downtown Kelowna that utilizes a mentor-apprentice model that prepares artists, emerging or professional to develop their art and design skills as a pathway to entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.  They offer world class visual art/design-based workshop programs, consulting services, professional art supplies, custom framing and affordable studio work space to help fine artists become successful in the art world.
