One Subject - Many Takes: Finding Originality Through a Series with Ingrid Christensen
A single subject - even a single image - can provide the spark for many paintings. By varying techniques, compositions, concepts, and color palettes, you can create a series in which each painting refers to its source yet pushes beyond simple reproduction.
In this workshop we'll develop several paintings with the aim of pushing beyond our usual painting techniques and habits.
We'll start each piece with a different method and intention, launching it along a unique path. Avoiding our habits of technique and decision making, we'll explore the "what if" of creativity and strive to bring experimentation and play to your work.
The resulting series will surprise you with its scope and give you the courage to take more painting risks in the future.
This workshop is suitable for oil and acrylic painters!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Ingrid Christensen is an established Canadian artist specializing in figurative and still life oil painting. She is a modern Impressionist, passionate about the same elements of perception and painting that inspired the French and Russian masters: the complex effect of light on colour, and the varied and exciting potential in paint application.
Much in demand as a painting instructor, Ingrid regularly teaches sold-out workshops in Canada and abroad. She has written for, and featured in several Winsor & Newton Masterclass videos filmed in London, UK, and is a regular contributor for Artsy Magazine.
Ingrid's art has won both national and international awards, and her work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, Avenues, and Arabella magazines. Her art is held in permanent public and private collections world wide. Based in Canada, Ingrid is represented by galleries in Canada and the United States.
